Is paying for an influencer ranking worth it? An honest answer from a site that sells one
Before paying to appear on an influencer ranking, know what you're buying: what a paid spot can do for a creator, what it can't, and how to decide.

The short version: A paid influencer ranking is worth it if you want a visible, shareable spot and you're clear that it's paid placement. It's not worth it if you expect it to prove your influence, win brand deals by itself, or stay at the top without topping up. On TopInfluencers.io a spot starts at $5, rank is what you pay, and the listing says who paid for it.
We sell ranks. So take this with the salt it deserves.
It's still worth answering straight.
A paid spot on a leaderboard is a specific product with specific uses. Some creators will get their money's worth. Others would do better spending $5 somewhere else. The difference comes down to what you plan to do with the rank.
What you're actually buying
On TopInfluencers.io, a payment buys placement on a leaderboard. Nothing more.
Concretely, you get:
- A spot on your platform's board, ordered by the total paid toward it
- A public listing page showing your rank on your platform, worldwide and in your country
- A share image and share buttons built for posting the rank
- A private manage link to edit, top up, hide or remove the listing
You don't get an award, a verification, or a statement about your influence. The terms say so, and so does every page.
When a paid spot can be worth it
You want a playful milestone to share. A rank with a public price tag is a joke your audience gets. "I'm #3 on the TikTok board, and yes, I paid for it" is a post that invites replies.
You like a public scoreboard. Some creators enjoy the game of it. Rank is visible, the price to beat is visible, and friends can outbid each other.
You want a clean page that links to your profile. Your listing links straight to your real account, with your name, photo and follower count pulled from the platform.
The price is small for you. The floor is $5. If that's pocket change and the above sounds fun, the downside is small.
When it probably isn't
You want proof of influence for brands. A paid rank isn't evidence of reach, and anyone who reads the page will see that it's paid. Show brands your platform analytics instead.
You expect to stay #1 without doing anything. Anyone can pay one dollar more than your total and move above you. Being outbid is never refunded.
You'd be stretching your budget. If $5 matters to you this month, spend it on your content. The board will still be here.
You're hoping it will look like an award. It won't, and it shouldn't. For how to tell real recognition from the paid kind, see how to spot a fake influencer award.
A paid rank is a receipt you can frame. It's not a trophy.
How to decide in two minutes
- Open your platform's board, for example the Instagram board, and look at what the spots around your budget cost
- Decide what you'd do with the rank. If you can't picture sharing it, skip it
- Check whether you'd mind being outranked tomorrow. If you would, budget for a top-up or skip it
- Read what each platform's board is like if you're choosing between several
If you still want in after that, the join page shows the live price for #1 before you pay anything.
Getting the most from a spot
If you do list yourself, a few things help:
- Use a clear profile picture on the platform itself. That's the picture your card uses, and every photo is moderated before it appears
- Write a short caption, because it shows on your card
- Share the listing page rather than a screenshot, so people can see the live rank. Our guide to sharing your ranking has more on this
Questions creators ask about paid rankings
Does a paid ranking help you get brand deals?
Not on its own. Brands judge creators on audience, engagement and fit, and a paid rank openly isn't any of those. It can be a fun talking point or a link on your media kit, but platform analytics are what a brand will actually look at.
How much does a spot cost on TopInfluencers.io?
The minimum is $5 on any board. To rank above a specific listing you pay one dollar more than its current total. Prices move whenever someone pays, so check the board or the join page for the live figure before deciding.
What happens if someone outbids me?
Your listing stays on the board with the same total and ranks lower. Being outbid is never refundable. You can top up from your private manage link whenever you want to climb back above them, and the board always shows what that would cost.
Can I remove my listing later?
Yes. Open your manage link and choose to remove the listing. The photo is deleted immediately and the listing comes down permanently. Removal is never refunded, so it's worth deciding whether you want the spot before paying.
Will people know I paid for my rank?
Yes, and that's deliberate. The whole site says rank is what you pay, and your listing page states that it was listed and paid for by the account owner. The appeal of a paid board is that nobody pretends otherwise.
