Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Twitch or Facebook: which board should you list on?

TopInfluencers.io has a leaderboard for six platforms. How to choose where to list, what's the same on every board, and when to list on more than one.

The short version: List on the board for the platform where your audience actually follows you, because your listing links to that profile and your rank is shown on that platform's board. The rules are identical on all six boards: rank is the total paid, the minimum is $5, and outranking a spot costs one dollar more. Prices differ between boards, and each platform handle is a separate listing, so being on two boards means two listings.

Six boards. One rulebook.

The choice is about your audience, not the mechanics.

TopInfluencers.io runs separate leaderboards for Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X, Twitch and Facebook, and you can be on more than one.

What's identical on every board

Before choosing, it helps to know what doesn't change:

  • Rank is the total paid toward a listing, highest first
  • The floor is $5 on every board
  • Outranking costs one dollar more than the spot you want to beat
  • Every listing gets a public page with its rank on the platform, worldwide and in its country
  • One private manage link per listing, to edit, top up, hide or remove it

The full rules are in pay-to-rank, explained.

What's different between boards

The prices. Each board has its own leaders, so the cost of #1 on one board has nothing to do with the cost on another. The join page shows the live price for #1 on the platform you pick.

The profile it links to. A listing is tied to one handle on one platform. Its page links to that profile, and the site pulls the name, photo and follower count from it.

Who's browsing. People who follow TikTok creators tend to open the TikTok board. Your listing is most useful where your audience already looks.

How to choose

Ask yourself three questions:

  1. Where is your biggest or most engaged audience? List there. That's the profile people will click through to
  2. Where would you actually share the rank? A rank is most fun when your followers see it on the platform it's about
  3. Where are you trying to grow? A listing can point new people to a newer profile, but it works best when that profile already has content worth following

If you're still undecided, open two boards side by side, for example the Instagram board and the TikTok board, and compare what the spots around your budget cost. Our snapshot of who leads each board shows the top five on every platform.

A quick guide by platform

  • Instagram: suits creators whose audience follows their photos, Reels and Stories
  • TikTok: suits short-video creators whose audience lives in the For You feed
  • YouTube: suits channels with long-form or Shorts audiences
  • X: suits creators known for posts, threads and commentary
  • Twitch: suits streamers with a live community
  • Facebook: suits creators and pages with an established Facebook audience

These are rules of thumb, not requirements. You can list on whichever board you like.

Pick the board where a click on your name lands somewhere people already recognise.

Listing on more than one board

You can be on several boards. Each platform handle is its own listing, with its own payment, total, page and manage link.

That makes sense when you have real audiences on more than one platform, or when you want each audience to see a rank about the profile they follow. It's less useful if your second profile is inactive, since the listing sends people there.

The worldwide ranking compares listings from every board together, so each of your listings also has its own worldwide position.

Using the country filter

Every board can be filtered by country. Listings have a country chosen when they're created, and each listing page shows its rank within that country. Smaller boards within a country often cost less to lead, which some creators find more meaningful than a worldwide rank.

Questions about choosing a board

Can I list the same account on two platforms?

You list handles, not people, so yes. Your Instagram handle and your TikTok handle are two separate listings, each with its own payment, total, page and manage link. Each appears on its own platform's board and in the worldwide ranking.

Is #1 cheaper on some boards than others?

Often, yes. Each board has its own leaders, so the price to take #1 depends on the current top total on that board. Prices change whenever someone pays. The boards and the join page always show the live figure.

Do the rules change between platforms?

No. Every board uses the same rules: rank is the total paid, the minimum is $5, and outranking a spot costs one dollar more. What differs is the price on each board and the profile each listing links to.

What does the worldwide ranking show?

It ranks listings from all six platform boards together by the same rule, the total paid. A listing's page shows its worldwide position alongside its rank on its own platform and in its country. The homepage shows the worldwide board.

Which platform is best for influencers?

There isn't one best platform. The right board is the one where your audience follows you, because your listing links to that profile. Compare a couple of boards and the prices around your budget before choosing.

Pick your board

Head to the join page, choose your platform, and it'll show you the price for #1 before you pay. Not sure about your handle? Find your username on any platform.
